Description
Semax is a seven-amino-acid peptide (Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro, approximately 813 Da) first characterized by Russian peptide laboratories. It was engineered as a structural analog of the natural ACTH (4-10) fragment, with sequence modifications intended to slow enzymatic breakdown and improve molecular stability relative to the native fragment.
Because it is derived from a melanocortin-family sequence, Semax is frequently used in investigations of ACTH-fragment pharmacology and receptor interactions. It has also become a common reference compound in cellular neurobiology, where researchers examine its influence on signaling activity in neuronal cell models, including pathways associated with brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and related neurotrophins.
Bolt Peptide offers Semax as a lyophilized powder for use as a laboratory reference standard and as a tool compound in in-vitro and benchtop experimental work.
- Melanocortin and ACTH-fragment receptor pharmacology studies
- Cellular signaling and neurotrophin (BDNF) pathway research in neuronal cultures
- Comparative work on peptide stability and resistance to enzymatic degradation
- Cellular responses under oxidative-stress conditions in vitro
- Method development and analytical reference applications
Each vial contains 20mg of Semax as a sealed, lyophilized preparation. Material is validated for identity and purity by HPLC and mass spectrometry, with a Certificate of Analysis available on request. Store cold and protected from light, and reconstitute using standard sterile laboratory technique.
Research Use Only: This material is supplied strictly for laboratory research. Not for human or animal consumption. It is not a drug, food, supplement, or cosmetic and has not been approved by the FDA.
