What Is the Wolverine Blend (BPC-157 / TB-500)?

Wolverine Blend (BPC-157 / TB-500) molecular structure — Bolt Peptide research overview

The Wolverine Blend is a combined research preparation of two peptides — BPC-157 and TB-500 — supplied together in a single vial. The two compounds are frequently studied alongside one another in laboratory and animal tissue-repair research because each is associated with distinct, complementary mechanisms: BPC-157 is investigated for angiogenic and cytoprotective activity, while TB-500 (a fragment of thymosin β-4) is studied for its actin-regulating and cell-migration roles. The name is an informal market label, not an official designation.

Research-use-only (RUO) note: the information below summarizes preclinical (in-vitro and animal) findings only. Nothing here describes effects in humans, and no product discussed is intended for human use, diagnosis, treatment, or any clinical application.

What is in the Wolverine Blend?

  • BPC-157 — a synthetic pentadecapeptide (15 amino acids) whose sequence is derived from a protein identified in gastric juice. It is studied in vitro and in animal models for tissue-repair-related processes.
  • TB-500 — a synthetic peptide corresponding to a biologically active fragment of thymosin β-4, a naturally occurring actin-binding protein, used in research as a more soluble synthetic stand-in for the full thymosin β-4 molecule.

Why combine BPC-157 and TB-500?

The two peptides are paired in research preparations because the published mechanisms studied for each are different and non-overlapping rather than redundant. BPC-157 has been examined for angiogenesis (new blood-vessel formation) and cytoprotective signaling in animal wound and tendon models, whereas thymosin β-4 — the parent molecule of TB-500 — is studied for actin sequestration and the regulation of cell migration. Investigators interested in tissue-repair biology sometimes study them together to compare or co-examine these separate pathways. For a side-by-side breakdown, see our BPC-157 vs TB-500 comparison.

BPC-157 in research

In preclinical literature, BPC-157 has been associated with angiomodulatory activity in muscle and tendon healing models and with cytoprotective effects in various animal systems. A 2009 study reported modulation of angiogenesis markers in rat muscle and tendon healing, and a 2025 literature and patent review catalogued the breadth of reported preclinical activity. These are animal and in-vitro findings only. For more, read our full BPC-157 article.

TB-500 in research

TB-500 represents an active fragment of thymosin β-4, the most abundant member of the β-thymosin family and the principal G-actin–sequestering peptide in many mammalian cells. In experimental models it has been studied for roles in cell migration, angiogenesis, and extracellular-matrix-related processes. See our full TB-500 article for a deeper look.

How it differs from GLOW and KLOW blends

The Wolverine Blend contains only BPC-157 and TB-500. Other research blends build on that base by adding further peptides — the GLOW and KLOW blends typically combine BPC-157 and TB-500 with additional peptides such as GHK-Cu (and, in some formulations, KPV). In short, Wolverine is the two-peptide base, while GLOW and KLOW are broader multi-peptide preparations studied for different combined mechanisms. Check each product page for its exact composition.

Research status and safety

The Wolverine Blend and its individual components are sold strictly for laboratory research use only. They are not dietary supplements, drugs, or medical products, and are not approved by the FDA for human or veterinary use. All effects described in the literature were observed in cell-culture or animal studies and do not establish safety or efficacy in humans. No dosing information is provided because the material is not intended for administration to people or animals.

Handling

Research peptides are typically supplied as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder that is reconstituted in a laboratory setting before in-vitro work. For general handling guidance, see our reconstitution guide.

FAQ

Is the Wolverine Blend a single peptide? No. It is a co-formulated preparation of two separate peptides, BPC-157 and TB-500, supplied together in one vial for research convenience.

Why is it called “Wolverine”? It is an informal, market-coined nickname referencing the comic-book character’s rapid-healing trait. It is not a scientific or regulatory term and implies no validated effect.

Can I use the Wolverine Blend for healing or recovery? No. This material is for research use only and is not intended for human use, diagnosis, or treatment. The mechanisms described above come solely from preclinical (in-vitro and animal) studies.
